People Against Prisons Aotearoa

People Against Prisons Aotearoa is a prison abolitionist organisation working for a fairer, safer, and more just Aotearoa.
Since our formation in 2015 as a group concerned about the treatment of transgender people in prisons, we’ve become a mass-based organisation that works with different communities to address the worst problems of the criminal justice system, and to build a better one.

Communist Refoundation Aotearoa

Communist Refoundation is a nation-wide group of workers, students, and trade unionists devoted to fighting for an end to poverty, war, and exploitation. Since capitalism is at the root of these issues, we aim to overthrow it and build a communist society where the means of production are owned collectively and directed towards improving the welfare of all. Our mission is to build a revolutionary Marxist party capable of getting us there.

Organise Aotearoa

Organise Aotearoa (founded 2018) is a New Zealand socialist organisation who describes itself as a movement "for decolonial communism". The organisation has an extra-parliamentary focus, and a membership composed of various prison-abolitionist, anti-imperialist and anti-poverty activists

We are a decolonial justice project for Papatūānuku and all her inhabitants. We have a staunch focus on justice for non-human animals in Aotearoa but understand the path to liberating our fellow earthlings is the same path that liberates our entire planet.
